Jan Torsten discovers a zeppelin hovering over skyscrapers of Stockholm..., in a painting by Gösta Adrian-Nilsson (GAN), sold amoungst a few interesting GAN paintings at Bukowski's auction house, last October.

However, there is another flying object, on the far left side of the painting. And which could possibly be another zeppelin (longer and slimmer). Or it could be a plain from the front. because the "basket" is in the middle. So, it may not be the basket, but the body from the front, and wings, also from the front (view).
If Jan Torsten did not mention it, then he also did not see it... Read his critic about the painting, below.

Gösta ( Gan ) Adrian -NilssonTitle Skyscrapers ( Skyscrapers )Description ( d )Signed G.A. -N. Executed in Stockholm circa 1918-19 . Canvas laid down on paper - panel 21.5 x 17.5 cm .

"Art critic" Jan Torsten Ahlstrand;
"At the end of May / June 1917 GAN moved into a studio apartment at the top of a five-story building at Kungsbroplan . "For me is the city - the blue waters , the golden spiers , bridges and the thousand boats , houses and streets ," he wrote , he impressed in his diary 1 June 1917 . This was the beginning of a very creative period in the two years he lived in Kungsholmen , before he journeyed from Stockholm . In the final phase of this time , the spring of 1919 , he shifted gradually from its kaleidoscopic fragmentation of Cubism into a more coherent , synthetic style. The view of Stockholm with the new house that was built in the late 1910s was inspiring , and in a part of GAN paintings of city scenes can be seen in the background geometric abstracted husmassor with rows of yellow and red small spots illuderar window axes ( cf. eg . Watercolour Eiffel Tower from the same time). In the small painting Skyscrapers he has purely subject in an image of a nocturnal Stockholm with a zeppelin hovering as a symbol of modernity above the new high-rises . It's an interesting little time image of the city, the new big city growing up around him in his studio at Kungsbroplan . The actual title Skyscrapers he has probably given the painting later, perhaps in connection with the sale of the small board. The U.S. imported the term " skyscraper " was translated at first with the new word " skyscraper " . The first skyscrapers in Stockholm after American Idol was both Kungstornen on King Street , which were completed in the mid 1920s."
