Thoughts about the present state of the Dot Tel domain

I am unsure, if it is about money saving. I wish I could understand how Telnic acts. But I, same as you, often see things, that seem to make less sense, than some other solutions. Economically, the taken steps, and the slugish achievements, seem to be counter productive, at least in the short term.

Nevertheless, it is a act of enabling a open source spirit.

But I wish Telnic could explain, what their strategy and philosophy, etc., is.

There is a discrepancy between the value of the domain extension (big value) and the looks of the interface available at present.

It is the ugly duckling of Internet domains. But it will be a beautiful swan, one day, which every one will embrace.

Telnic and its Dot Tel domain, are like parents with a child, and both are struggling, until the parents learn about, and provide, what the child needs, to grow strong and healthy.

Telnic, was not very good in selling its domain, but it is a incredible good product. And the competition on the market, can't hinder .Tel's success too much, in the long term.

It could also be, that Telnic is more acting according to their gutt feeling, having no smart reasons for the way they proceed.

Dot Tel is the best Internet domain, and hardly any one is aware of this fact.

The winners will be holders of Dot Tel domains, who are very intelligent. If I look at the believers in Dot Tel, they are all highly intelligent people.

It is sad to have had to see so many Dot Tel domains drop: Looks like something went wrong, there. But I wonder, if it would of been possible, to have prevented such masses of dropped .Tel domains.

Because .Tel has no web content, as such, you can't get much revenue form it, directly. after one or two years. .Tel works differently than .Com. And people did not see that clearly enough, which is why they dropped some, or all .Tel's.

The value of .Tel, is not to make any direct revenue, generated through a .Tel page, but in drawing attention, and winning new customers (or friends)...
It is the landing page, that gets found in Internet. Still ugly, but useful.

One of the characteristics of .Tel, is the uniformation and restriction, that make it a bit uniform. And if .Tel is not uniform anymore, .Tel would not be .Tel: It would be like a mobile friendly .Mobi or .Com, or .Org, etc.

Fast and big promo for a product, could possibly lead in a quick shot, that also fades away quickly. Possibly, slow promo is good, for some product. For them to develop slowly.

My .Tel, his .Tel, your .Tel, can become big, within tree or five years. But after one or two years, is not realistic, in the world of Internet domains / domaining.

Any good .tel name is a keeper for the long term.

It is more labor intensive, to develop and populate a .Tel, than any other domain extension. But then .Tel rewards you with a good Google Search ranking.
.Tel is only a landing page, if you will, but the best one, one can have.

With mobile Internet, the extension ".tel" will become the number one domain extension for mobile usage.
