Ok: So what makes the Dot Tel domain better, or more desirable than other social media network services?:

What other social media network websites offer, as well:

--> One single space, or point, to place all your contact info links, including social media links.

--> quick access through internet.

--> easy to get found in internet.

--> click to call (not all, but some?)

--> Other: Can you think of anything else?... Let me know...

--> privacy features. Hide phone or email address (only some, not all).

--> A Google location map.

--> Display of pictures and contact information.

--> customization of the online contact-, respectively, business card.

--> Free hosting.

What other social media network websites don't offer:

--> A personal and memorable internet domain name as your web presence, for accessing your contact information. Own ownership of a social media or small business domain, whereas a listing at Twitter or Facebook belongs to Twitter or Facebook, and not to you: You are just sub using it, for free.

--> 3000 sub-domains (three thousand).

--> A Google location map for each sub-domain.

--> A own and unique search engine, on each page / domain and sub-domain.

--> Contact info is stored directly within the Domain Name System (DNS)
(: Benefits, not so clear, though..., or not really visible or trackable.)

--> Integration of of your contact page, within your main (sister/mother) website.

--> Better SEO options: Because you are optimizing the search engines for a main web page, and not for only a sub-domain of an other domain owner. How?: With header- and title descripitions, as well as key words, that get indexed, and boost the SEO for your .Tel domain. And with the possility to add as many links, as you like (backlinks, crosslinking).

--> Basically, a Dot Tel domain enables you to have a better online presence for your small business, than if you would only try to promot your page(s) at Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, etc.

--> The possibility to get your email address to match with your Dot Tel domain name.

--> The possibility to use different languages in the header- and title descripitions, as well as in the key words section.

--> The option to place adverts (custom adverts, or / and Google Adsense adverts).

--> The possibility to build a directory (containing many sub-domains / sub-folders).

--> What you can do on one page of your Dot Tel domain, you can do on all of its sub-pages:
SEO, advertizing, renting directory listings, posting link and text info, etc.

--> With a Dot Tel domain, you automatically have a mobile friendly web page, and which you can set up within minutes, to be online.

--> Better interaction between domains with the same name, and which are integrated and liked: mycompany.tel and maycompany.com. Whereas Facebook/mycompany/37404739 with mycompany.com, is not as effective. But any link, is good, especially, if it is about social media networking.

--> The possibility to set up a few so called "Profiles": Each profile can have other contact information: Example: myname.tel (contact info for my UK residence), myname.tel (contact info for Italy residence): I can keep my same .Tel name, and switch between profiles, respectively, online business cards.

--> The possibility to earn some tidy revenue, through advertizing, or affiliate marketing, or sub-letting/sub-renting advert space or directory listings.

--> Because the Dot Tel domain is a mobile friendly web page, you can add the QR-Code (quick response code) of your Dot Tel domain, so visitors of your site can scan it, and get your .Tel domain, without "dialing"/noting your .Tel name. Why would you want to do that on your Facebook-, or Twitter page?: Ok, it may be nice to look at, but in terms of business, probably not as effective.

--> The Dot Tel domain is more innovative, and constantly gets improved and updated with a number of enhancements and applications, within reasonable time.

--> The Dot Tel community members can be crafty, offer and suggest improvements, tools, etc., to make .Tel better. A bit something like within an open source Linux user community.

--> Promoting and branding your own Dot Tel name, is much more effective, and makes more sense, than if you would be promoting your Twitter, Facebook or WikiWorldBook page.

--> The Telnic service, is very new, and focussed on mid and long term success: So, this soon-to-be-popular service is in its early days, and so your investment and faith in .Tel will, most likely, be rewarded.

Conclusion:

Dot Tel, gives you more power!...

For less than $10 per year, you get all these options to benefit from. I must admit: It is a bit of "nitty gritty" work, to customize and to populate your Dot Tel domain, so that it gets a favorable ranking position within Google or Yahoo, bit is is sure worth the time, care and attention, put in it. You'll have a real "business booster"..., and updating it, will be childs play.

Behind the sceen, at the Dot Tel registry (Telnic) at Percy Street in London:

Human nature, greed, false economy, and scandals within the board of directors at Telnic, seems to be spoiling a lot of the fun:
The registry's slow promotion and work pace, is quite back-breaking, and they seem to be often unskilled and clumsy, if trying to do something their selfs, and their forum policy has led to the exclusion of the most brilliant forum members and .Tel contributors, and so that the forum is practically "dead", with an average of only two (2) online forum members. The main forum moderator, seems to be a big squarehead, acting very resolute, banning forum members, all the time. Well, there are not many left, from the "old gard"... But nontheless, it looks like it will pay, to stay faithful to .Tel, and make .Tel work for you and your business.

A big Telchina success, may be more wishful thinking, but lets, wait and see...

The rule of business, is, to firstly be successful, localy (within the UK and Europe), but which the registry has not yet achieved. This probably will still have to be achieved, in order for a success in China to be able to happen. I hardly can imagine, that it can be the other way around.
The local succes in the UK, would be so important for the registries potential success in China/Asia. For it to become possible and real.

And so, we are still waiting for more and faster promotion to be done witin the UK, Europe (and the US). Don't expect too much .Tel success in China, for a while, but stay tuned, however.

The Dot Tel domain has done quite well, in Canada, where it is supported and backened by the Canadian .ca registry Webnames.ca. Who had also produced the famous Love Train promotion video (by one of its doughter-companies). But a big .Tel success in Canada would also depend on an local success in the UK. Which, as I said, hasn't happened yet, due to very little and very slow marketing and promotion.

After one and a half years, I am still not able to see, how the registry "ticks", and what their strategy or concept is, if they ever had, or have one. Time, for the registry to get better organized, and to go for it, because competition from other service providers is getting bigger and bigger. And it is high time, to get used to a faster work pace. Competitors won't wait: They will either be there, a bit behind, or overtake.

But fingers crossed: The Telnic service, is very new, and focussed on mid and long term success: So, this soon-to-be-popular service is in its early days, and so your investment and faith in .Tel will, most likely, be rewarded.

Well, that is the picture!
