Installing a application in Linux manually

Manuel procedure of downloading, installing and running a application:

Create a "Download Folder" (every downloaded file goes automatically to that folder):

Edit
Preferences
Firefox Preferences
Main
Downloads
Save files to /home/myname/My_Downloads
Close


Download and install a program or App:

Download a application

Go to
/home
----------> /myname
----------------------------------> /My_Downloads
------------------------------------------------------------> downloaded file /file
Extract file content within the file: Then you get the content in a folder
Delete the file
Install the program within the folder (follow instruction of READ ME file)
Run the programm in the "Root Shell Konsole"

See, if you can find the program with icon, in K-Menu (All Applications)


Done, and program is installed and up and running.
