QR codes are only useful for you, if you can scan them.
Which means, that you must have your smart phone with you.
But you can scan a QR code from anywhere, and from any distance, as long as the code is big enough for your smart cell phone to read.
You can scan a QR code from facades of buildings, through shop windows, from any display, such as PC, laptop or an other cell phone display.
A QR code will provide you with contact info, much faster, than if you would dial a phone number, or note a email address, or website link.
Entering and adding new contact info on mobile phone displays, will often happen, by scanning the info, more than dialing or tiping the info. Simply, because it is faster, easyer, and time saving.
